Wolves will be using Hytro's BFR technology to enhance players’ preparation and training, while putting a significant emphasis on recovery, using the product after sessions and games during travel, downtime and even enhanced pool recovery.
Warren Bradley, Hytro’s founder and CSO, said: ‘Having worked closely with Warrington Wolves back in 2015 for my final PhD studies, it’s incredible to continue a personal journey that started nearly a decade ago, now, through this exciting partnership.'
Dr Bradley added: ‘It’s always fantastic to work with innovative coaches like Ade who understand the wider benefits of BFR while aligning to our ethos – bridging the gap between research and practice, by making the complex, simple. What is BFR?
Hytro produced the world’s first BFR wearable, pressure validated and designed specifically to improve sports performance. More than 150 elite teams competing in the in a range of sports worldwide use Hytro’s products.
It works by tightening a strap around the top of your arms or legs to lock blood in the muscles while you perform light exercise or recovery routines. This helps your muscles get stronger and recover faster than they would without it.
When you're strapped in, the muscles that are being restricted fill up with oxygen-poor blood. This makes easy exercises and recovery routines feel tougher. It makes your muscles work harder and so helps your body adapt faster and better, making you stronger, improving your endurance, and helping to speed recovery.
With impressive credentials on earth, Hytro has also been selected to be tested on astronauts in orbit, as part of a NASA research programme.
