Sports physiotherapist Matt Konopinski has welcomed the creation of a partnership between Rehab 4 Performance (R4P) – the Liverpool-based company where he is director of physio and performance – and Hytro.

R4P is a physiotherapy, sports injury, rehabilitation and performance centre specialising in dealing with professional athletes, while Hytro is responsible for the first blood flow restriction (BFR) wearable that’s designed to improve sports performance.

Matt said: ‘We are delighted to be entering into a partnership with Hytro, a company providing a flexible solution for BFR application, underpinned by a strong scientific evidence base.’

He added: ‘Hytro technology hugely benefits our clients, who range from the general population to elite athletes. R4P looks forward to building a long-lasting relationship with Hytro, founded on a shared ethos of rehabilitation and performance excellence.’

'Cutting-edge techniques'

Warren Bradley, Hytro’s founder and head of elite performance, said: ‘Having worked in the Premier League, I’ve been aware of Matt and Chris for quite some time – two individuals I respect very much in professional sports.'

Dr Bradley added: ‘Our shared endeavour to cut through industry noise and provide athletes with the very best in cutting-edge techniques married with practical utility, illustrates the synergy and impact of our partnership.’

Hytro is currently being used by rugby and football clubs such as St Helens RLC, Leeds Rhinos, Catalan Dragons, Bath Rugby, Newcastle Falcons, Newcastle Thunder, Aston Villa, Glasgow Rangers, Blackburn Rovers, Everton, as well as by the UFC Performance Institute and Alpine Academy.
