Every single physiotherapy graduate who was tracked after completing their degree in 2021 at the University of Winchester went into highly skilled employment – a 100 per cent success rate.

Partly as a result of the outstanding achievement, the university moved into the top 10 in the UK for the proportion of its students going into employment or further study.

The latest figures show that 92.8 per cent of Winchester students who graduated in 2021 went on to work and/or further study within 15 months of graduating – the eighth best result in the country as a whole and the fourth best among English universities.

The data, supplied by the Higher Education Statistics Agency, also place Winchester top position in the south-east region outside of London.

Praise for students and staff

Vice-Chancellor Sarah Greer said: ‘We are delighted with these outstanding results. They show that the university is succeeding in giving our students the skills and knowledge required by employers in a competitive jobs market.'

Dr Greer praised the ‘hard work’ of students and staff alike. She added: ‘At a time when the UK urgently needs more highly qualified nurses, allied health professionals and teachers, the University of Winchester is meeting the need by educating high quality and highly-motivated graduates to embark on careers in these sectors.’
