Ascenti unveils ambitious plans to recruit 100 experienced physiotherapists by the end of 2023

Ascenti – which describes itself as having largest private physiotherapy workforce in the UK – wants to recruit 100 more ‘ambitious and experienced’ physios by December.

The company already employs 300 physiotherapists and is also a major provider of mental health support. In a statement released today (23 August), it said it needs to increase the size of its physiotherapy workforce to meet a ‘surging demand’ for its services, with year-on-year revenues up by 25 per cent.

Ascenti will also aim to appoint 30 more people to join its customer and business support teams, based in Fareham, Hampshire, and Bristol, respectively.

The company already operates in partnership with 14 NHS integrated care boards and more than 400 private businesses. It said there is a ‘growing demand’ for its physiotherapy-led services, pointing out that more than 20 million people in the UK report having musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions such as arthritis or back pain.

Roles available around the country

Chief executive Stephanie Dobrikova said: ‘Over the course of the last two years we’ve experienced incredible growth, fuelled by a 25 per cent increase in the size of our talented team – which is now 800-strong – the acquisitions of Six Physio and My Online Therapy, and significant investment in new services and products, including a first-of-its-kind physio self-management app.

‘With demand for our services growing rapidly over the first half of this financial year, and Ascenti securing new contracts with the likes of Bupa and Simplyhealth, we’re now in the exciting position where we need even more physios to boost our capacity to help more people than ever before.

Ms Dobrikova added: ‘As a clinically-led business, we know that our people make the difference and we’re committed to being the best place to work in MSK physio. As well as offering a growing range of development pathways that enable far faster career progression than is available elsewhere, our physios are supported through an award-winning Learning and Development programme and a comprehensive benefits package.’

The company is on the look-out for physios who have been practising for two years or more in order to be able to deliver about 750,000 appointments a year. Roles are available in Ascenti’s clinics across the country, with many of them based in London.

Training opportunities

Ascenti offers physiotherapists funded training opportunities in areas such as advanced physiotherapist practitioner and first contact practitioner.

The company’s recently revamped benefits package offering includes flexible working options, wellbeing support programmes, extended parental leave and paid leave to support charitable causes.
